Academic Resource Center—Tutor

The Academic Resource Center (ARC) serves current WVU students by providing academic support at Bennett Tower ARC (M04) in addition to virtually meeting students via Zoom.

The ARC employs tutors to support a variety of subjects, though we have higher demand for tutors in STEM courses.  Tutors should also be able to share "pro-tips" for approaching courses such as strategies for time management, note-taking, and active learning skills. 

Tutors must meet the following criteria:
  • All tutors must have an overall GPA of 3.25 or better.
  • Tutors must have earned a minimum grade of ‘B’ or better in the course (‘A’ preferred) to provide content tutoring services.
Application Requirements:
  • The tutor application requires the unofficial transcript to be uploaded to confirm grades.
  • Two professional references are required. At least one must be from an instructor/professor.

Academic Resource Center—Greeter

The Academic Resource Centers serve current WVU students by providing academic support in multiple subjects at Bennett Tower ARC and virtually via ZOOM. We employ Greeters to serve as the first point of contact for students. Greeters will welcome students to the center, check them in/out for tutoring using our Navigate software, and direct them to the appropriate tutor. Greeters must be eligible for Federal Work Study through the WVU Financial Aid Office.

REACH Student Success-  Graduate Success Coach

The REACH Student Success Office serves current WVU students by providing academic support programs aimed at teaching the necessary skills needed for collegiate success. Success Coaches are graduate students who serve in a variety of roles within this mission. Success Coaches should be dedicated to educating undergraduate students about skills needed for success by utilizing positive and encouraging coaching strategies related to time management, study and note-taking skills, test prep, etc.

Student Success - Work Study

Help our team keep the office and front desk running smoothly by answering the phone, greeting students, and checking students into their appointments. The REACH Student Success team relies on dependable work study students to cover the front desk and work one-on-one with students in the office.
