Adventure WV First-Year Trips

An Adventure WV First-Year Trip is a peer-led, 5 or 6-day long outdoor experience program that may be completed for credit. The objective of the program is to prepare incoming students for college while visiting scenic parts of Wild and Wonderful West Virginia. A variety of trip designs and dates are intended to accommodate almost every student. The cost is $95 or FREE if you are Pell Grant eligible.

First-Year Pathway (FYP) students have 3 options

FYP Exclusive: Mountaineer Quest Trip

July 2-6 or August 7-11, 2018

Mountaineer Quest trips are camp-based, peer-led, five-day programs that prepare incoming students for life at WVU and in West Virginia. Students will engage in day trips around the area, participating in activities such as hiking, rock climbing, service work, and sightseeing. The July 2-6 trip will include viewing the Cheat Lake fireworks.

FYP Exclusive: Odyssey WV Trip

June 16-21 or July 14-19, 2018

Odyssey WV starts at the Outdoor Education Center. Students will experience the challenge course and also have the opportunity to travel the state of West Virginia, go rock climbing and enjoy whitewater rafting.

Open Enrollment Adventure WV Trips

Choose any 5-6 day open enrollment (non-FYP specific) Adventure WV First Year Trip. Trips take place weekly all throughout the summer.
