Please note: Not all faculty/courses participate in the alert process.
Receiving an alert through EAB’s Navigate platform is a proactive process to help connect you to WVU resources. The Early Alert Process primarily takes place during the first few weeks of the semester (weeks two to five). If you receive an email indicating that your professor is concerned about your progression in their course or concerned about your absences, you are encouraged to take action to improve. Even If you feel that you are struggling, but don’t receive an alert, you can still get support. Click here for resources and action steps.
If you receive an alert indicating “Higher than F likely impossible. Consider withdrawing.” Please consider withdrawing ASAP. You can discuss options with your adviser, but in some cases, it is better to withdraw from a class than fail a class. A “W” does not impact the GPA, but it does affect the course completion rate. There are several options to help you be successful, including a D/F repeat policy, so be sure to discuss your options. Please consult the academic calendar for withdrawal dates.
